Jo Quigley MA

Jo studied at Winchester School of Art for her BA, then earned an MA in Applied Fine Art from Kingston University. She lives and works near Woking in Surrey.

Her focus is wildlife and people, with a recent interest in urban settings - photographing subjects in busy public spaces where people naturally gather.

The work is ambitious in scale and complexity, inviting the viewer to engagewith multiple figures across a single canvas.

Influences include Pissarro, Hopper and Lowry. She works in several media but favours acrylic for its speed and flexibility.

Selected recognition

Her achievements include prize wins and shortlistings for major awards, including BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year (2011), Surrey Artist of the Year (2011), and Artists & Illustrators Artist of the Year (2013, 2014, 2023).
